- ➤ Daylon Harn, a Chelan County worker, rescued an injured bald eagle after encountering the bird while removing a deer carcass by Entiat River Road last month. He later helped a wildlife rescue company capture the raptor, which is now undergoing rehabilitation in Pullman. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned Wenatchee drivers with unrepaired Takata airbag inflators to stop driving immediately and check their VINs for free repairs at authorized dealers — acting now to protect lives. KPQ
- ➤ Crews are tackling snow and ice control on South Lakeshore Road and repairing potholes in Cashmere and Leavenworth—flaggers are directing one-lane traffic while seasonal weight restrictions and temporary road closures keep drivers cautious. Work will continue as crews monitor road conditions. KPQ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Peanut butter products from Ventura Foods were recalled after blue plastic pieces were found in the production filter; the Class II recall went into effect on April 30 and affects Washington along with 39 other states (check your pantry for remaining products). KPQ
- ➤ The Wenatchee Valley Medical Group asked Confluence Health to pause its $60 million cancer center project on the hospital campus, arguing it duplicates services and offers few benefits, and they recommend investing in advanced diagnostic imaging (which they say could more effectively improve patient care).
