ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Poison hemlock (also known as fool’s parsley) is expected to bloom in late spring across Washington, where it can grow to 12 feet tall. Residents are advised to wear gloves when removing the weed, which is on the state’s quarantine list due to its deadly toxicity. KPQ
- ➤ The gate on Burch Mountain Road in Wenatchee closed this week to protect the dirt roadway during seasonal freeze-thaw cycles — Horse Lake Road in Wenatchee and Oklahoma Gulch Road near Entiat will reopen on April 1. KPQ

- ➤ Confluence Health defended its $60 million Cancer Care Clinic planned for the Central Campus in Wenatchee and said the new facility will meet modern patient needs despite local physician concerns + the clinic is set to open in 2028. KPQ
