  • Wenatchee Valley singles over 35 face a small dating pool, so local groups are hosting events and activities like book clubs, yoga classes & running clubs to help residents form meaningful connections. The community offers practical ways to meet new people amid everyday life.  KPQ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The U.S. 97 lane at Blewett Pass (from milepost 145 to 149 in Chelan and Kittitas) was closed Friday after several collisions on snowy, slick roads caused hazardous travel conditions, and officials urged drivers to postpone nonessential trips.  KPQ

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Gorge Amphitheatre (scenic venue) will host major summer concerts including Martin Garrix on May 9, Memorial Day weekend’s Griztronics Festival, shows by Brandi Carlile, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Chris Stapleton, a three-day Bass Canyon Festival, and performances by Dave Matthews Band and Jack Johnson. More shows may be announced soon.  KPQ
  • According to WalletHub — a survey that evaluated traditions, cost, safety and weather — Boston ranks best for Saint Patrick’s Day while Wenatchee will host one of the nation’s shortest parades; local residents are invited to join festivities on Tuesday, Mar. 17.  KPQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • About 200 migrant families attended the Wenatchee School District's third annual Migrant Family Night Thursday evening at Wenatchee High School, where they received health resources and school information (the event connected families with essential services).  The Wenatchee World
  • The Wenatchee High School boys basketball team was named the WIAA 4A Academic State Champion after finishing the season with a 3.742 GPA. They were honored at the state championship on March 7 in Tacoma (with Athletic Director BJ Kuntz praising the players for their school and sports dedication).  KPQ

  • Chelan County's Moderate Risk Waste Facility is collecting more waste as usage increases, and Douglas County will open a similar site in East Wenatchee soon.  The Wenatchee World
