- ➤ Wenatchee Valley Humane Society and Chelan-Douglas Land Trust will host the second annual Pets & People Outdoors event on April 5 at Kenzie's Landing. The event will feature talks from Dr. Rebecca Bozarth on outdoor dog emergency care and Officer Rylie Chabot on pet–wildlife interactions—contests like the Cutest Dog-and-Owner Duo and snacks are planned—with donations supporting trail maintenance and animals in need. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Travis Lee Collins, 35, was convicted in January for first degree murder after luring Jose Garcia Ramirez during a drug deal on the 1700 block of Rock Island Road in January 2024—Douglas County Superior Court Judge Brian Huber sentenced him to 30 years and Collins intends to appeal his conviction. - ➤ The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center will host a silent film series on the work of F. W. Murnau with screenings of Nosferatu on March 28th, The Last Laugh on April 25th, and Faust on May 23rd—each event will open with a lecture by film scholar Hart Johnson and live music by organist Thomas Kozina. Admission costs are set at $5 for members and students and $7 for others, and pre-registration is advised. KPQ
