- ➤ The Spring Queens will perform a drag show fundraiser at Numerica Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 5 with a VIP meet — greet at 6:30 p.m. and showtime at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature talent from across the region and encourages attendees to dress in their best Spring Queens style. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ On March 11th, about 350 locals met at Mission View Elementary gym to hear Helion’s plan to build the world’s first fusion power plant on a 10 acre Chelan PUD site near Rock Island Dam for a 50 megawatt deal with Microsoft. The company said it has enough private funds and aims to feed power to the grid by 2028 — local officials and residents raised questions on taxes and safety — while promising clean energy. - ➤ Rep. Kim Schrier and three other lawmakers introduced a landslide preparedness bill — the National Landslide Preparedness Act Reauthorization Act — that will reauthorize the old law through fiscal year 2028 and plan for hazards after the deadly Oso landslide killed 43 people 11 years ago. KPQ
