EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, few children travel alone to school in Wenatchee compared to previous decades, as parents now decide when kids can walk or ride on their own. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children wait until around 10 (fifth grade) before commuting solo. KPQ
- ➤ Wenatchee School District invites residents to tour Wenatchee High School on Wednesday, April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. to share feedback on a $294M bond proposal for a new facility (architects will answer questions to help guide the design process). KPQ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents may notice smoke from controlled burns planned by the U.S. Forest Service on about 6,000 acres in the national forest to reduce fuel loads and boost forest health — operations will begin when weather, temperature, wind, and fuel moisture conditions are right. KPQ
