  • Serve Wenatchee is a non-profit business in the Midtown Building that runs the Fresh Hope Market—a store where qualifying families use points to buy food and essentials such as free baby food. CRIME NEWS

  • A 23-year-old man identified as Alan Meza-Duarte was arrested and taken to Chelan County Regional Justice Center after officers responded on Sunday night to a domestic violence call on the 1100 block of S. Mission St and found him sheltering at a house on the 300 block of Terminal Ave—he refused to exit until SWAT negotiated for over an hour, and he now faces charges including Robbery First Degree Domestic Violence, Unlawful Imprisonment Domestic Violence, Domestic Violence Assault, Malicious Mischief Domestic Violence and a supervised release violation.  KPQ

CULTURE NEWS

  • At Liliana’s Fashion Boutique on South Wenatchee Avenue, owner Joaquin Granados is renovating the store to honor his late wife while continuing to serve the local Hispanic community with culturally tailored apparel—he is repurposing the salon area, maintaining a photo studio for new styles, and plans to auction a yellow dress to raise funds for cancer research. The boutique remains a hub for celebratory events like quinceañeras and First Communions.  Wenatchee Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wenatchee Valley College has named Emily Scoville as its new program manager to oversee the WVC Foundation's scholarship program and the Knights Collective volunteer program. She joined the foundation in January 2024 and brings nonprofit and communications experience from her work at Cancer Care of North Central Washington — a background that will support WVC students.  KPQ
