- ➤ Free plants will be given away this Saturday at four local sites including Foothills Community Center in Wenatchee, City Hall in East Wenatchee, City Hall in Entiat, and Martin’s Market in Cashmere. The event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. + 3 p.m. in East Wenatchee with limited supplies and a suggested $5 donation. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ W.T. Clark Pipeline Bridge, closed last June for major updates to the Apple Capital Recreation, is set to reopen in November (about 200 days from today). The Wenatchee World
- ➤ Chelan County opened the new Ohme Garden Road campus after completing a year-long $7.8 million construction project. County officials expect the facility to improve local services. The Wenatchee World
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The USDA retracted its warning on Walmart’s Great Value Dino-Shaped Chicken Nuggets after tests showed the lead concern was a false positive (lab contamination). The nationwide alert, which included Washington stores, is removed so consumers can safely eat their stored product. KPQ
