ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Washington State Patrol warns that more motorcycles on the road with rising temperatures bring added risk—troopers advise new riders to complete safety courses and avoid speeding to help everyone ride safely. KPQ

- ➤ Avalon Music in Wenatchee, a 34-year favorite offering a vast selection of instruments, is now under new ownership by Josh Hofstead and Alicia Clair — they took over from Steve Clem — and longtime employee LaVon Gamble will continue to lead the team at 532 N. Wenatchee Avenue. KPQ
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Boat owners can opt for voluntary inspections at Lake Chelan from Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, April 19 to stop invasive species and speed up future inspections (colored stickers will help speed check-ins). Participation rose to 95 percent in 2025 from 86 percent in 2024. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ WSDOT will plan bike and pedestrian safety improvements on a two mile section of Highway 97A in Chelan to help ease travel risks. Further project details will be shared later. The Wenatchee World
- ➤ The Washington State Department of Transportation is proposing safety improvements on nearly two miles of US 97A in Chelan by installing a 10-foot shared-use path (extending Lakeside Trail access) and adjusting lanes and speed limits to reduce collisions and manage increased traffic. KPQ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The free car seat check clinic (sponsored by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Chelan-Douglas Health District, and Target Zero) is set for Friday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gateway Cinema parking lot to ensure children’s car seats are properly installed. KPQ
