The Washington State Department of Transportation is proposing safety improvements on nearly two miles of US 97A in Chelan by installing a 10-foot shared-use path (extending Lakeside Trail access) and adjusting lanes and speed limits to reduce collisions and manage increased traffic.

The free car seat check clinic (sponsored by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Chelan-Douglas Health District, and Target Zero) is set for Friday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gateway Cinema parking lot to ensure children’s car seats are properly installed.
