  • Electricity bills continue to climb in Washington with King County rates at $125 and Kitsap at $141, and local groups will host a Clean Energy Expo at Pybus Public Market on Apr. 22 and a NW Renewable Energy Conference from June 16 to 18 to discuss cost-saving measures.  KPQ

  • DOT crews cleared fresh snow from the highway’s closure zone on Tuesday — repairs, drainage work, and ongoing maintenance keep the 37-mile North Cascades Highway closed. Recreationists are advised to avoid the Ross Dam trailhead as rockslides and washouts pose hazards.  KPQ
