  • Today the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society hired a full-time veterinarian and is now seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join its team. The position will assist with spay, neuter and dental procedures, offers a salary from $54,000 to $63,400 (with a $2,500 sign on bonus or relocation assistance), and welcomes applicants with either experience or fresh training.  KPQ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A two-acre brush fire in Derby Canyon forced three alarms Friday afternoon after an escaped burn pile ignited spot fires that threatened power lines and orchards on the 900 block of Derby Canyon Road—there was no risk to homes and a helicopter from Olympia was inbound—residents were asked to stay clear of the area.  KPQ

  • Eastmont School District reached an agreement with the union when the Eastmont Education Association approved a $822,000 concession to keep at least seven teacher jobs—ensuring smaller classes and continued student support programs.  KPQ
