- ➤ Festival season is heating up in North Central Washington as Wenatchee’s 106th State Apple Blossom Festival runs until Sunday, May 4 and Leavenworth’s Maifest unfolds from May 3 to 25. The Manson Apple Blossom Festival is planned for May 9 and 10 while the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival in Cashmere will take place from June 20 to 22. KPQ
- ➤ The Washington Fallen Heroes Project needs local volunteers to carry banners honoring military personnel during two parades this weekend. Volunteers should check in at the VFW registration table on Grant Rd at Georgia Ave by 5 p.m. for the Classy Chassis parade on Friday or at the Fallen Heroes Float on the 600 block of South Miller by 9:45 a.m. for the Apple Blossom Grand Parade. - ➤ Authorities arrested 40-year-old Joshua Clark—wanted for failing to register as a sex offender and facing burglary and malicious mischief charges—near the Sunset Motor Inn in East Wenatchee on April 24 after he tried to escape officers by leaving a motel room window. KPQ
