EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wenatchee School District is offering free summer meals at Mission View Elementary from June 23 to July 23 with breakfast from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:45 to 12:45 p.m. Small Miracles will offer grab and go meals at four parks from June 22 to July 30. KPQ

- ➤ Federal lawmakers are proposing further cuts to the Hanford cleanup budget that could lower funding by nearly $100 million. Sen. Patty Murray visited the Tri-Cities recently and warned that potential layoffs & a shift in waste processing could result from the changes. KPQ
- ➤ Wenatchee Valley Fire Chief Brian Brett received the Dan Packer Fire Chief of the Year award on Wednesday night at the state banquet; he credited his team + mentors for his success and noted his planned retirement on Nov. 20. KPQ

- ➤ Wenatchee river floats and paddleboarding offer relaxing summer fun from July until Labor Day along local waterways. Visitors can rent tubes and gear from well-known outfitters and explore scenic trails and riverfront beaches around town. KPQ
