- ➤ Wenatchee startup OoNee won $205,000 at the Flywheel Investment Conference held May 21-23 by earning a $155,000 investment offer from the Flywheel Angel Network and a $50,000 relocation award from NCW Tech Alliance to develop its sea urchin ranching technology. The funding will help the company manage purple sea urchin overpopulation in kelp forests—boosting its plan to produce premium seafood. Wenatchee Business Journal

- ➤ East Wenatchee Police served a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of 8th Street Southeast and arrested two males—with one facing charges for firearm possession by a felon—and recovered items including three firearms, controlled substances, bicycles, generators and tools as police urge owners to contact the records department for property return. - ➤ Chelan County commissioners signed a $2M purchase agreement with AMG Aluminum North America for 27.51 acres of Malaga waterfront property last week+ the deal sets the stage for a potential park. The Wenatchee World
- ➤ Chelan County is proposing changes to its fire hazard zone rules that will affect lower areas and higher elevations. The county will set the Valley Zone to start on June 1 and the Mountain Zone on July 1, allow propane camp stoves year round, and keep travel and hunting rules unchanged—public comments are invited before the June 9 hearing.
