- ➤ A new Wednesday evening schedule launches with the sixth season of the Cashmere Community Farmers Market, which opens this week from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cashmere Museum Pavilion and features live music, family activities, and vendors accepting SNAP, Senior, and WIC benefits (doubling EBT up to $25). - ➤ Wenatchee Valley relies on cars while a recent Travel & Leisure ranking places Seattle among the top five cities for public transit, thanks to its connected bus, light rail, and ferry options. The result shows commuters in Western Washington increasingly opt for transit to beat traffic and high gas prices. KPQ

- ➤ WVC will celebrate faculty and staff graduating from its inaugural nine‑month Leadership Development Academy at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5 (in the Music and Art Center’s Grove Recital Hall); the program built leadership skills to better serve students and the community. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Recreation areas in Okanogan County (Split Rock Day Use Area: June 8-23, Chopaka Lake Campground: June 15-18, Palmer Mountain: June 18-19) will temporarily close for upgrades per BLM. Visitors should use alternative facilities during these improvements. KPQ
