ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters responded on Friday at 5:30 p.m. to a structure fire in an unoccupied former dormitory on Wenatchee Valley College campus (1500 block of 9th Street) where heavy smoke was seen on the second floor and no one was injured; investigators are checking if there was unauthorized entry. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival will take place June 19-21 in Cashmere, featuring live music, camping, and workshops including a youth instrument session. Attendees can register for a chance to win free wristbands + details available from KISSIN 97.7. KPQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wenatchee and Eastmont High will honor the class of 2026 Friday. Wenatchee’s event at the Apple Bowl (gates open at 7:00 p.m. with fireworks at 10:15 p.m.) and Eastmont’s ceremony at Town Toyota Center (doors open at 4:00 p.m.) will be streamed live. KPQ

- ➤ Chelan County Fire District No. 3 put a new wildland brush truck in service at the end of May to boost wildfire response. Local experts built the apparatus to save over $250,000 by pairing it with an existing vehicle. KPQ

- ➤ Rocky, a playful 7-year-old Alaskan Husky, is available for adoption at Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (WVHS) thanks to a generous donor covering his fee; he needs a secure, fenced yard and must be the only dog in his home. KPQ
