Every Thursday at 6:00 p.m., local bikers of all levels join the Thirsty Thursday ride, leading to a vibrant tailgate at the Number 2 Canyon upper parking lot where organizers serve hot dogs — a community favorite — and cold beers after the ride.
🚧 Accidents
Firefighters contained a three-acre brush fire near Palisades Friday around Nelson Siding Road & State Route 28 with help from a helicopter, while a small fire near South Nile Avenue was quickly extinguished.

Bubba J's BBQ in Cashmere is serving up smoked meats and comfort food favorites like brisket burnt ends (and brisket mac and cheese) after opening just over a week ago in the old Country Boy's location.
The restaurant welcomes locals during Tuesday-Saturday lunch hours.
🎭 Culture
The Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival returns to the Blues Ranch on the Methow River this July with live entertainment, camping & riverfront relaxation.
Festival activities begin Friday, July 17 and continue through Sunday, July 19; tickets are available now.
East Wenatchee will host the Pangborn Festival of Flight on Saturday, June 20 at Pangborn Memorial Airport, celebrating the aviation legacy of the first nonstop Japan-U.S. flight in 1931.
The event offers aircraft displays, family activities, food vendors, live music and helicopter rides, with a fee for B-25 flight experiences.
🎓 Education
The Wenatchee School Board earned the 2026 Regional School Board of the Year award from the North Central Educational Service District by keeping a steady focus on students amid severe budget cuts.
The district will soon expand its Accelerated Pathways program at Wenatchee High School (along with other new initiatives).
