A scam is targeting Washington residents by sending texts that claim unpaid traffic tickets must be paid within 24 hours+ the messages use threats of fines and jail which are not official.
Officials advise deleting the texts and confirming any payment notices through verified channels.

Families can cool off at Wenatchee's splash pads at Rotary Park, Lincoln Park, and Riverfront Park and also enjoy wading pools at Washington and Pennsylvania parks plus a doggy swim event at the city pool.
The facilities are open daily (splash pads: 11:00am to 8:00pm) and weekdays (wading pools: 1:00pm to 5:00pm) through Labor Day.
