- ➤ East Wenatchee Police Department will host National Night Out on Friday, August 1 at Eastmont Community Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. where local first responders will display emergency equipment + provide fun activities + give out free food for families. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Voters in Chelan County have received ballots for the August 5 primary that ask them to choose school board candidates in Cashmere and Manson, a Chelan city council candidate, and measures including a new sales tax in Wenatchee, a levy lift for Monitor fire services, a $15 million bond for modernizing Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue facilities, and increased fire board representation in Manson—ballots must be postmarked by August 5 or dropped off at designated locations. - ➤ A judge ruled that the Chelan County jail will continue housing people arrested by Wenatchee while a lawsuit over jail services moves forward— the decision keeps the contract in place until the legal case is resolved. The Wenatchee World
