COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Wenatchee — The Community Foundation of North Central Washington has appointed Kevin Rieke, Rick Wray and Colleen Frei as new board members to serve three-year terms and join committees handling grants, scholarships, investments and governance. The board also honored outgoing trustees Betsy Cushman and Karen Wade for their service. Wenatchee Business Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Wenatchee Valley College Foundation Board of Directors named Dr. Christopher Stahler and the Foundation of Caring Fund as the Outstanding Friends of the College for 2024 and 2025 for their support. In 2025, Dr. Stahler gave $465,000 to buy a new fluoroscopy machine for the Radiologic Technology department — and the Foundation of Caring Fund donated $750,000 in 2022 to boost the nursing program — helping improve college equipment and training. - ➤ Peoples Investments announced that Kimberly Dunbar joined as a financial advisor serving the Wenatchee Valley. She brings more than seven years of investment management experience—specializing in wealth management, retirement, and estate planning—and works with community groups and schools to share financial education. - ➤ Peoples Bank is accepting applications until Aug. 31 for its Impact Grant program that will award up to $25,000 to a Washington State non-profit chosen by Impact Group — a second organization will receive $10,000 based on a public vote in October. The Wenatchee World
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Two hospitals in North Central Washington, Confluence Health’s Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee and Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster, were honored by the American Heart Association for improving care in heart disease and stroke through the Get With The Guidelines program.
