Wenatchee Valley College named Geoff LaHaie as its new vice president of finance and administrative services after an extensive nationwide search.
He will start on Aug. 10 to manage fiscal services, facilities, IT, and safety operations, aiming to strengthen the college's financial health.
🌲 Environment
The Little Giant Fire in Chelan County grew by about 11,000 acres last Tuesday, reaching 70,853 acres by Wednesday with 0% containment — crews then focused on a 445-acre spot fire near Lake Chelan as a Level 3 evacuation notice remained in effect.
🏥 Health
The Chelan-Douglas Health District is investigating 10 whooping cough cases reported in June and July and is reviewing community data to monitor the situation.
