- ➤ High school seniors from Wenatchee and Eastmont School Districts will attend mandatory Royalty Meetings at the Wenatchee Convention Center on November 4 to learn all pageant details for the Apple Blossom Festival's Royalty Selection Pageant—an event offering scholarships and leadership training. One Queen and two Princesses will be crowned with awards that include a $10,000 scholarship for the Queen and $5,000 for each Princess. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Washington State Department of Transportation says studded tires are allowed on Washington roads from today until March 31—drivers must still use chains when signs require them. The agency warned that studded tires could cause up to $29 million in road damage each winter and advised checking with tire dealers about stud-free alternatives. KPQ
