- ➤ Two firefighters were injured during the 2025 wildfire season when a smokejumper broke his feet after his parachute collapsed at the Stampede Ridge Fire and an interagency hotshot was hit by a falling tree at the Labor Mountain Fire—both were taken to Confluence Health Hospital in Wenatchee. - ➤ Arlene’s Flowers filed for bankruptcy after 48 years of service and a steep revenue drop in 2025—its owner, Kim Solheim, said that if the bankruptcy is approved the shop’s assets will be sold to pay nearly $286K in liabilities. The store has been closed since March amid ongoing financial difficulties. KPQ

- ➤ The Wenatchee Foothills Trail System will close on December 1 to protect migrating mule deer + the closure covers trails north of Fifth Street including Day Drive, Horse Lake, Kenzie's Landing, Sage Hills and Sage Hills Gateway, so visitors are asked to use other paths until the system reopens around April 1.
