➤ Wenatchee's 96-year-old historic fire station across from City Hall was sold for $540,000 to Dime Food Services, led by Ian and David Nichols, to become The Brigade restaurant—honoring the firehouse legacy. Interior demolition will begin in January, remodeling will start by August 2026, and the restaurant is expected to open by October 2027. KPQ

➤ A new study ranked Washington State sixth among states with low holiday cheer, showing that searches for mistletoe and other festive items are down while interest in Advent calendars is up—local attractions like Leavenworth and Seattle still offer festive events. Dark and wet weather appears to be a key factor in the lower overall holiday spirit. KPQ
