- ➤ Crews are clearing a large debris jam from storm floodwaters at Rock Island Dam and have removed about 10,000 yards of material that will be chipped for local parks and agriculture. Restoration efforts in Stehekin and Holden Village continue after power outages and road washouts. KPQ
- ➤ Wenatchee Valley Humane Society features Sundance, a 16-year-old Arabian mix who overcame fears after a trailer rollover accident and now awaits an experienced owner in his foster home + he is up-to-date with vaccinations and loves treats. KPQ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews responded Monday morning at Castlerock Apartments when a faulty bathroom fan sparked a small fire that caused minor water damage (minimal unit damage occurred) and later advised residents to inspect chimneys and avoid overloading extension cords during the colder months. KPQ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Drivers received suspicious DMV texts on Dec. 20 claiming unpaid traffic fines would lead to registration suspension and license revocation if payment wasn’t made by Dec. 22; local officials advise contacting the DMV directly to verify any unusual messages. KPQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Chelan County officials now offer a free voucher program for residents who experienced flood damage on Dec. 10-11 to dispose of storm debris. The program runs through Jan. 3 at Dryden and Leavenworth drop-off sites (check hours and quarantine zones). KPQ
