- ➤ A $2 million donation from Dean Weidner will keep Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp open as the Y leases it back for $10 per year for 99 years. The Y plans to resume overnight programming and expand year-round outdoor activities in 2027 to reimagine the camp experience. KPQ

- ➤ Amazon warns Washington shoppers that phishing emails fake urgent Prime renewal notices and trick users into entering their login details. Customers are advised to sign in directly to verify account status (Amazon will never request sensitive information via email). KPQ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mountain West Food Group is recalling nearly 3,000 lb of Forward Farms ground beef after tests detected E. coli O26 (packages have a January 13 sell-by date) in Washington and five other states, so consumers should check their freezers if they may have it. KPQ
- ➤ The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society has shared winter pet safety tips to help owners prepare for icy sidewalks and colder weather, advising them to stock up on extra food, blankets, and pet gear (such as paw wax and boot alternatives) for safety. KPQ
